i cut the strips of leather then bound it round the mesh skeletons, i fell this created the texture and look of quality i was after.
i first brought some leather string and had the idea of wrapping it around the antlers however i didn’t like the outcome… i’m going to try buying some leather and by cutting it into strips and binding them in this i think i will produce the outcome i want…
i then covered the mesh skeletons in a coupe of layers of papier mache, i did this to create a flat surface so i had more ways of deciding how to finish the antlers.
Antler Making Process:
after trying out other materials i decided on using wire mesh to make some basic skeleton outlines of the shape i wanted it was easily manipulated to the shapes i wanted.
